The Fell Forest’s forbidding branches have claimed the lives of many a foolish adventurer and conquesting soldier. And that statement isn’t artistic license or metaphor – it is quite literal. Everything from the trees to the animals to the inhabitants of the forest are hostile to anyone uninvited, and invitations are rarely and reluctantly given.
The denizens of the Fell Forest, for the last 235 years, have held sway over a steadily smaller and smaller domain. War with Drisden and Taynor has slowly worn away at the kingdom, ruled over by the Verdant Prince, though it is not to be underestimated. It is still the most dangerous region of Taynor, and the truce between the duchy and the forest is in dire straits.
The Fell Forest is home to the Verdant Prince, one of the most powerful creatures in Taynor (though he considers himself not to be in Taynor, but rather, considers the Fell Forest a separate dominion) and his court, full of dangerous creatures from, purportedly, dragons to nymphs to ghosts. He is, despite his hatred of civilization and all it stands for, always searching for allies, and “Prince-dealer!” has become a popular pejorative term among the people of Taynor.
The Fell Forest encompasses much of the central portion of Taynor, from above the Bone Peaks to just above Twinsdale
